It pays to keep old field guides:
Robbins/Bruun/Zim/Singer's Golden Guide c1966 has Common Crow only
Petersons 4th ed 1980 has American, but in the index gives a nod to
"Common" and notes "see American"
Sibley's Eastern 1st ed 2003 American with no mention of Common
