Cloudy in the AM becoming cloudless later in the PM. Calm winds until
early afternoon when north winds kicked in and the skies cleared. The
temp. reached the low 60s F.
Not a single raptor the first wo hours, so I went home, then came back
later for a while when the skies began to open up. There was a small push
of BWs and TVs to the south that were at the limit of my binoculars for
about 45 minutes, then no birds when the north wind started. Our local
Merlin made a brief appearance, then a fast moving migrant flying high and
to the south of the watch.
A few Bank Swallows passed by.
Strong south winds and warm throughout the day, but a cold front is due to
arrive around mid-day with an increase chance of thunderstorms. It may be
good for a while, at least until the rain comes.
