Subject: [wisb] Wintering Gulls of the Fox Valley, January 26
On Saturday, January 26, Stuart Malcolm and Tom Schultz will be leading a field trip focused on gull ID to benefit the Natural Resources Foundation's Bird Protection Fund. You do NOT have to be a Foundation member to sign up for this tour. It will start indoors with a presentation and handouts on gull ID, then head outside to look for rare winter visitors to the Appleton area. Target species include Greater- and Lesser Black-backed, Iceland and Glaucous Gulls. If gulls are scarce, there should be waterfowl and Bald Eagles, as well as other local birds. After the tour they'll adjourn to local establishment for lunch and the telling of bird stories.
