Subject: [RV Birds] Emigrant Lake, 1/2/19
Was at Emigrant Lake today, 10:30 - 11:45AM. Blue sky, no fog. Lake is slowly filling up, particularly on northend. Parked in Hill Cemetary parking lot, walked below on paved path below cemetary to lake entrance and area where rowing club launches: 2 Rock Wren (one below cemetary parking lot around rocks and paved path, other at rip rap area before entrance to lake); several waterfowl, mostly Mallards, Common Mergansers, at least 2 American Widgeon. Waterfowl highlight was 1 Green-winged Teal and what appeared to be 2 Canvasbacks off in distance (binos only, no scope); 1 Peregrine Falcon flew right over my head, landed in oaks above lake observing waterfowl below.
