A "stakeout-type" Hotspot has just been set up for the Varied Thrush in St. Mary's County.  Exact name is:

stakeout Varied Thrush, Leonardtown (2018)

(Note that eBird automatically will add "St. Mary's County" at the end of this name.)  The Hotspot is located at 22070 Philip Drive south of Leonardtown.

The Hotspot should be established in the eBird system by the time it gets light on December 27, so will be usable by eBirders on Thursday and subsequently.  If the bird sticks around into the new year, we'll add 2019 to the Hotspot name.
The eBird Reviewers for Maryland urge all birders to include in their checklists the ground rules for searching for the Varied Thrush:
"Birders may visit between 8am and 4pm. Visitors may walk on the driveway but please stay on the asphalt, do not go onto the deck, and do not wander around the yard. Please park along the left side of the road between the first house on Philip and this house (both houses are on the left side). If that space is full, please try to avoid parking directly in front of another house."
