Hope you went up to the top of Sandia Peak and saw all three Rosy-finches.

Subject: [MDBirding] out of area: Birds in NM last week

Friends: Took a trip to several spots in northern NM last week and got some interesting views of cranes, raptors, wood ducks and other birds.

The Bernardo wildlife area is run by the state and is much less known than its neighbor NWR at Bosque del Apache. You can get closer to the cranes at Bernardo, which has large fields of corn that the birds feast on.
