Went for a hike through Skokie Lagoons / Erickson Woods this morning. Nothing too unusual but some good birds nonetheless. A BROWN CREEPER was nice to see in vicinity of several other common species. Open water allowed for good numbers of COMMON GOLDENEYES and COMMON MERGANSERS - along with a BELTED KINGFISHER and a GREAT BLUE HERON. A pair of RED-TAILED HAWKS surveyed the situation from the trees nearby. List below. Some pics at link: https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S50922191
Good Festivus birding!
