Subject: IBET Skokie Lagoons Forest Preserve--Willow Rd., Cook, Illinois, US
Went for a hike through Skokie Lagoons / Erickson Woods this morning.
Nothing too unusual but some good birds nonetheless. A BROWN CREEPER was
nice to see in vicinity of several other common species. Open water allowed
for good numbers of COMMON GOLDENEYES and COMMON MERGANSERS - along with a
BELTED KINGFISHER and a GREAT BLUE HERON. A pair of RED-TAILED HAWKS
surveyed the situation from the trees nearby. List below. Some pics at
