11/7 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center, 10 am-1PM, high tide, receding, 60f, sunny. One human visitor who was new to the center , new to birding and the area....just visiting with lots of questions about what was on the marsh, how to pronounce names of the birds.... very enthusiastic. On marsh: 7 Mute swans including 1 juvenile-still grayish feathering, 56 Canada Geese, 16 American Black ducks, 4 Gadwalls, 2 American Wigeons, 1 Green winged teal, 1 D.C. Cormorant fly by and 1 Northern Harrier fly over.
On grounds & feeders: a surprise of one monarch butterfly at the pollinator garden. 2 Mockingbirds, 2 Blue jays, 1 Starling , 1 dark eyed Junco, 6 Mourning doves, 2 House finches, 2 White breasted nuthatches, 2 Titmouse, 4 White throated sparrows, 1 Song sparrow, 1 Downy woodpecker, 3 Black capped chickadees, 1 Yellow rumped warbler, 3 House sparrows.
