Subject: Red Slough Bird Survey - Nov. 6
It was mostly clear and mild with some wind on the survey today. 68 species
were found. I started at the west end of Red Slough today and worked the
pine/hardwood roadsides along Sand Road where I turned up a flock of Purple
Finches, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, and a Blue-headed Vireo. Then I turned
back east on Black Land Road where I found some Pine Siskins in with a large
flock of goldfinches. Its duck hunting season now and all the ducks were
packed in the refuge area making it easier to count them. Here is my list
