I birded Polk County from Hwy 81 west to Co. Rd. R, south to 134 Rd. And then zig zagged back north and east. Not the best day with the wind but I did okay. I ended with 31 species and added 6 more at Lakes Babcock and North in Olatte County on the way home. The lack of any duck species was unbelievable other than mallards.

Polk County:
Red-tailed Hawk- 10
Red-winged Blackbird - a couple thousand
White-breasted Nuthatch - 3
Cardinal - 3 females
Fox Sparrow - 1
Harris’s Sparrow - approx. 35
Tree Sparrow - 12
White-throated Sparrow - 1
White-crowned Sparrow - 6
Song Sparrow - 3
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1
Bald Eagle - 2 (1 adult and 1 imm.)
Northern Harrier - 3 (2 females and 1 male)
Greater Yellowlegs - 2
Mallard - 2

Platte County:
Am. Pipit - 1
No. pintail - 2

Dixon County:
Purple Finch - 3 (2 females and 1 male)
