Subject: [CT Birds] Final for LHPP for Tuesday 10-20-2018
Today was an excellent day at Lighthouse Point Paek on New Haven. Thanks to the excellent eyes from the following birders:
Paul DesJardins, Sol Satin, Howie Sternberg, Tom Murray, Ed Haesche, Paul Smith, Bill Batsford, Jim Cortina and Nick Bonomo, who stopped here on his way back from Brazil, we ended up the day with a total of 13 Raptor Species and a total list of 55 Species.
The following Raptors:
Turkey Vulture - 14
Osprey - 7
GOLDEN EAGLE - 1 found first by Nick
Northern Harrier - 8
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 93
Cooper's Hawk - 48
Bald Eagle - 30
Red-shouldered Hawk - 26
Broad-wing Hawk - 1
Red-Tailed Hawk - 33
American Kestrel - 11eBird
Merlin - 5
Peregrine Falcon - 1


Other birds that should be noted for today:
Canada Goose - 245
RED-HEADED WOODPECKER - immature - 1
Eastern Bluebird - 395 , largest flocks were 80, 60, and 45
American Robins - 1,890
Purple Finch - 100
Red-Wing Blackbird- 10,250
