Subject: Red Slough Bird Survey - Oct. 10
It started off clear and calm today on the bird survey but then turned
overcast and windy, then turned partly cloudy, then turned clear again by
the end of the survey. The wind stayed though and made surveying difficult
as the birds mostly disappeared when it started. When it cleared off in the
afternoon we had a bit of a hawk migration going over. Biggest highlight
today was a couple Roseate Spoonbills in unit 27A feeding with egrets and
ibis'. Here is my list for today:
