Subject: [obol] Bonanza day of fall/winter arrivals
This morning early I saw the first FOX SPARROW of the season in my backyard.
That was only the beginning; this rainy, chilly fall day was a presage of
the winter feeder-birds.

At the end of the day I've tallied:

1 E. Collared-dove

3 Anna's Hummingbirds (at least)

1 Downy Woodpecker

2 Scrub Jays

3 Black-capped Chickadees

16 Bushtits

1 Red-breasted Nuthatch

1 Bewick's Wren

8 Robins - on chokecherries

20 Cedar Waxwings - on chokecherries

1 Yellow-rumped Warbler

2 Spotted Towhees

1 FOX SPARROW - FOS

2 Song Sparrows

1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW - FOS

2 Golden-crowned Sparrow

3 D-e Juncos

20 House Finches

3 Lesser Goldfinches

22 Am Goldfinches

1 House Sparrow
