Hundreds of hikers and carloads of folks on the hill and many who stopped to help spot and/or asked how the hawkwatch worked.
Weather: Weathah. Wind: 5-10mph/8-16kpm for 2 hours then dropped to 0-5/0-8 10am thru 1pm when it mostly stopped: 0-3mph/0-5kph until the end. Direction: from NNE thru 11am, from N until 2pm and NNE in the last hour.
Temp was 59F/15C, rose to high of 64/18 at noon and ebbed to 62F/16.5 at closing. Cloud cover 95% until 10am and 100% for rest of day Visibility 6mi/10K at beginning, 10mi/16k from 10am on.The haze lessened and the wildfires' smoke remained. Boston barely visible; Greylock occasionally appeared as a ghost "cloud" thru scopes.
Raptor Observations: Raptahs Migrants: Watch was from 8am to 3pm (EST) totalling 63.
OS 7;BE 4;NH 2;SS 7;BW 27;AK 5;ML 4;PG 1;UB 1; UR 5. Bald Eagles: 10:41 2nd year bird, full crop; 10:46 also a 2nd year but no full crop!; 12:45 adult;1:45 adult.
Locals: 6 Common Ravens; 1 Black-throated Gray Warbler.
