Official Counter: Brian Rusnica

Observers:

Visitors:
Doug Williams and a group of 5 awesome visitors from Mass Audubon Stony
Brook.

Weather:
Overcast, very cool in the 60s, with friendly Northerly breezes all day.

Raptor Observations:
Good diversity throughout the morning, and then the last hour saw the first
sizable groups of Broad-winged Hawks this season, with a stream of 18 birds
followed by a kettle of 12 with some Ospreys mixed in.

A baker's dozen of Ospreys today were very impressive!

A juvenile Broad-winged Hawk perched in the meadow across from the Watatic
parking lot greeted me early this morning. Great looks as this bird
patiently hunted the wetland.

Non-migrant Raptors:
3 Broad-winged Hawk
7 Red-tailed Hawk
2 Red-shouldered Hawk
48 Turkey Vulture
1 Barred Owl (heard only)

Non-raptor Observations:
40 Common Raven
3 Dark-eyed Junco
1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird
5 Cedar Waxwing

Predictions:
Cool, mostly cloudy, with an ENE wind - should be a good chance to beat
today's numbers.
