Birding was as expected very slow in the midday heat, but rewarded with at least 6 Black Terns working low on the Potomac just up river from the boat ramp and mostly from mid river to the Maryland shoreline. Terns all in either adult nonbreeding or juvenile plumage. Frequent dips along the river and all staying close the surface. Plenty of Rough-winged, with a few Tree and Barn swallows in the mix.
