Had a very successful BBS route on Monday. It starts at Rt. 88 and Waddell's Run in Woodsdale, follows 88 all the way to Rt. 27 above Bethany, then west and north and west again.
This is the third year I've run this route. The first two years each had 66 species, so 75 species this time was fantastic (plus between-count birds). Many species were dead-on in the middle of my average. It started warm and only got hotter outside, but no rain, and only some fog at the beginning.
Tennessee was about a mile south of West Liberty; ravens near nest in Bethany; Purple Martins a few miles north of Bethany on Rt. 88; and the Osprey on Rt. 27, west of the Rt. 88 intersection.
