Subject: Orchard Oriole -- Squaw Valley Woodlands, Allegheny Township, Butler County -- May 28, 2018
The highlight this morning was a singing Orchard Oriole (the fifth sighting here since 2008). The Green Heron is back, and Cedar Waxwings are traveling in groups across the sky, while regal Eastern Kingbirds and enthusiastically singing Song Sparrows perch in the tree tops. Red-spotted Purples, Pearl Crescents, Eastern Swallowtail, and Viceroy butterflies are flying about, while swarms of tadpoles congregate along the lake shore.

Good birding,
Dan Weeks
