OBS: Deborah Allen, m.ob.

Highlights: A slow day overall, but still some good birds around. We saw 13 species of Wood Warblers including Cape May and Bay-breasted Warblers. A Yellow-crowned Night-Heron continued at the Oven.

Canada Goose - pair Turtle Pond, pair at nest at the Pond
Wood Duck - 2 males (Reservoir & the Pond)
Mallard - around a dozen
Mourning Dove - 12 (8 of these at Evodia Field feeders)
Chimney Swift - 3 over Turtle Pond, 5 over the Lake
Herring Gull - around 50 loafing at the Reservoir this morning & some flyovers
Double-crested Cormorant 10 Reservoir & flyovers
Black-crowned Night-Heron - 2 adults (west side of the Lake & the Pond)
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron - adult nice views at the Oven - continuing bird
Red-tailed Hawk - 2 adults (1 circling over west side, 1 carrying nesting material at the Pond)
Red-bellied Woodpecker - Upper Lobe & Gill Overlook
Downy Woodpecker - feeders
Northern Flicker - pair in tree cavity Summer House/Warbler Rock (probably those evicted from Gill Overlook)
Great Crested Flycatcher - heard near Laupot Bridge
Eastern Kingbird - Turtle Pond
Warbling Vireo - singing at Wagner Cove, silent at Hernshead
Blue Jay - residents
Tree Swallow - over the Lake
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - 2 perched at Hernshead
White-breasted Nuthatch - stocking up at the feeders
House Wren - Laupot Bridge
Swainson's Thrush - 3 or 4 (1 Laupot Bridge, 2 or 3 on the Point)
Hermit Thrush - Summit Rock
American Robin - residents, several nests
Gray Catbird - pairs most locations
Cedar Waxwing - 3 Laupot Bridge, also 3 south of Azalea Pond
Song Sparrow - singing at Wagner Cove
Swamp Sparrow - Laupot Bridge
White-throated Sparrow - only a few
Red-winged Blackbird - 2 males at feeders
Brown-headed Cowbird - 3 (2 males, 1 female at feeders)
Common Grackle - 4 Turtle Pond nesting in Willow Oak
Ovenbird - the Point
Black-and-white Warbler - 8 to 10
Common Yellowthroat - 3 males
Cape May Warbler - male Summit Rock
Northern Parula - 5 seen, as many heard
Magnolia Warbler - 3 males
Bay-breasted Warbler - in Pin Oak north of King of Poland
Blackburnian Warbler - male between Summer House & Warbler Rock (thanks Bruno Boni)
Yellow Warbler - 3
Black-throated Blue Warbler - male between Warbler Rock & Summer House (Emmet & Mary Logan)
Yellow-rumped Warbler - Turtle Pond & Wagner Cove
Black-throated Green Warbler - male the Gill
Northern Cardinal - residents
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - singing Evodia Field (Emmet Logan)
Indigo Bunting - singing Evodia field (Emmet Logan)

Dr. Robert DeCandido's additions to today's list: Spotted Sandpiper at the Upper Lobe, Blackpoll Warbler on the Point, and Veery (2) in Mugger's Woods.
