Birded Cheyenne Bottoms & Quivira Refuge today. Thanks to excellent directions, found the lifer Red Phalarope among 23 shorebirds species. Also enjoyed five Cinnamon Teal at CB, a state bird. Added 18 year birds on day.
To ensure humility, struck out on Mississippi Kites in Great Bend (how?), Burrowing Owls around Quivira, and Cattle Egrets in CB. And walking along Arkansas River in Great Bend was good for...exercise:). And pics.
If anyone has recommendations for good spots along 75 returning tomorrow morning to Muscotah, feel free to suggest.
