Leica just repaired my 2004 Ultravid (7X42) under the Passport warranty. Total time was 2 months and the bin looks brand new. All I paid was shipping both ways. Excellent service, IMHO.

I have sent my Leica 8x42s, with Passport warranty, to Allendale, NJ for repair, or adjustment and cleaning two times. Both times took a very long time to return and once with a heated argument with a lady there regarding whether the repair would be covered.
