Birds 40 species (+1 other taxa), Canada Goose 8 [including 2 young], Blue-winged Teal 4, Green Heron 1, Great Horned Owl 2 [branching youngsters], Red-headed Woodpecker 1, Red-bellied Woodpecker 4, Downy Woodpecker 3, Northern Flicker 2, Eastern Phoebe 6, Great Crested Flycatcher 2, Blue Jay 15, American Crow 5, Tree Swallow 2, Black-capped Chickadee 6, White-breasted Nuthatch 2, House Wren 2, Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2, Eastern Bluebird 1, Catharus sp. 1 [unfortunately we did not get a sufficient look to id], American Robin 8, Gray Catbird 1, Brown Thrasher 1, European Starling 1, Prothonotary Warbler 2, Orange-crowned Warbler 1, Common Yellowthroat 1, Palm Warbler 1, Yellow-rumped Warbler 5, Wilson's Warbler 2 [We actually had 2], Chipping Sparrow 3, Field Sparrow 1, White-throated Sparrow 1, Song Sparrow 4, Eastern Towhee 4, Northern Cardinal 4, Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1, Indigo Bunting 1 [Did not see well, but what else could it be.], Red-winged Blackbird 4, Brown-headed Cowbird 8, Common Grackle 2, and American Goldfinch 5.



Flowers are very behind at Kent Park partly due to the late cold weather and partly due to the ongoing lack of moisture.
