Date: 5/1/18 11:58 am From: Dave Moffat <moffatfam...> Subject: [wisb] Baltimore Orioles have arrived
We spent a pleasant morning strolling through Pheasant Branch. Highlights were lots of Nashville and Tennessee Warblers (how did Tennessee get two warblers?), a couple of Northern Waterthrushes, an Ovenbird, a Great Horned Owl adult with owlet, and a bright male Northern Parula.
Just now, a brilliant male Baltimore Oriole landed on the orange in our front yard and started eating. (Must not have been any snacks on his flight.) It looks like we have a pair of American Kestrels nesting in our box. They've been hanging around pretty consistently and they're certainly going through all the right motions. Haven't stuck the phone in yet to check for eggs.
