This individual has been present in the vicinity of the 3800 block of Alton Place NW for at least a week now, according to other residents I’ve spoken to. Although this individual is likely an escaped hunting bird or at least the descendent of one, its origins are still up for debate, and many people have come by to see it since word of it got out a few days ago. If you see it again, please observe it from a respectful distance and try not to intervene in its behavior unless you see obvious signs that it is injured or otherwise in distress.
