> Comments: Arrived at the closed gate and parked the car. walked over bridge and checked out the "island of the lock property out to the dam and overflow. Main attraction despite sometimes heavy rain, were the swallows at the south end, best viewed from the bridge. 100s were flying around over the water, but periodically they would land on the jetty or trees. Sometimes they would gather as species, sometimes they were mixed. At one point there were about 20 Barn Swallows together on on spot and 6 Rough-winged Swallows a few feet away. Saw 4 species today, but in past have seen 5. Definitely want to come back on a nicer day.
