I birded a few hours in the early afternoon on Friday in Roberts County. There were patches of waterfowl here and there with the best being at Cottonwood Slough below.

I saw more waterfowl further north in North Dakota. Swans are abundant in the Fargo area, but got none in Roberts.

Got a huge blackbird flock right on the North Dakota - South Dakota line just to the east of the casino. It consisted of red-winged, yellow-headed and Brewer's blackbirds, brown-headed cowbirds, and common grackles.
