Another Golden-plover was observed at the crane preserve on Woodbridge Rd on the mudflats with 100's of Black-bellieds. It was too far off to ID to species, but my impression was a Pacific as well.

Our first Black-chinned was noted on Apr 10 (relatively late for us) with movement very strong afterwards. Up to 10 were noted at our feeders last evening (all males, not surprisingly). Good numbers of Rufous/Allen's (presumeably mostly Rufous) started showing up right after the cold front passed through on the 9th, with up to 8 noted at our feeders on the evening of the 13th (both males and females). Highlights have included a male Allen's on April 4 (photos of spread tail) and a male Calliope Apr 12-13. Very interesting was a male Rufous still mostly in juv plumage Apr 12-13. This would suggest the bird wintered somewhere locally in the state.
