Subject: [VA-bird] Riverbend Park, Apr 8, 2018

I birded with some community college students this morning at Riverbend Park in Fairfax County. We had several FOY species. I heard an Eastern Screech-Owl calling at around 7:15 AM when I was in the parking lot near the boat ramp at the visitor's center. Other highlights included a flock of Bonaparte's Gulls, a Great Egret, a singing Louisiana Waterthrush, very active Palm Warblers, a Pine Warbler, Eastern Phoebes, and an eaglet in the Bald Eagle nest upriver.
