Subject: [VA-bird] Dyke Marsh Sunday bird walk
Two adult bald eagles were observed on the Haul Road nest rim with an eaglet clearly visible. This was our first view of the offspring. Other highlights included an Common Loon flyover, a Peregrine Falcon, a Caspian Tern, Purple Martins, Rough-winged Swallows, Tree swallows, a Pine Warbler and a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Sixteen Osprey were seen (Eight breeding pairs) as well as six Bald Eagle adults. Total count included 62 species.
