Subject: [VA-bird] Horned Grebes - Gloucester Point Beach
Hi VA-Birders,

We spotted 6 Horned Grebes in various stages of transition to breeding
plumage at Gloucester Point Beach.
2
were North of the bridge (to your right as you face the river)
 in the canal
, and one
 of those
was very close to full breeding plumage.
Beautiful looks on a sunny day!

In our yard the past 2 weeks, we've had at least 30 and up to 150 Cedar
Waxwings EVERY day. Quite a treat! We have several large holly bushes
loaded with berries, and they take turns visiting those (when our resident
Mockingbird doesn't chase them away).
