Observation start time: 09:30:00 Observation end time: 14:15:00 Total observation time: 4.75 hours
Official Counter: Greg Lawrence
Weather: light WSW winds early switching to moderate NNE in the late morning
Raptor Observations: Rough-legged Hawk was nice plus a few Red-tailed Hawks and Turkey Vultures. Local Cooper's Hawk and Bald Eagles too.
Non-raptor Observations: Definitely more passerine activity around the platform early in the morning, but quieted down after the wind switched. First Eastern Meadowlark of the year, handful of Horned Larks, one Snow Bunting, two Killdeer. Northern Shrike again plus usual good numbers of ducks. Predictions: snow the next two days and poor wind conditions so coverage will be limited/nonexistent. W winds Thursday could push some birds through. If WSW winds actually happen this weekend, there could be some movement, but with temps around 40 or below with mostly WNW winds over the next week and a half, it will continue to be very slow. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Greg Lawrence (<glawrence21...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
