My reporting area includes all of Lehigh and Northampton Counties with the
northern edge of the area reaching Beltzville State Park and the southern
edge reaching Peace Valley Park in Bucks County. Updates are typically done
every Friday, more often when necessary.

The next Audubon program will be held on February 9th at 7:00 PM at the
Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus. Ranae Losey will do a program on the “Bats
of Pennsylvania”.

Sightings from UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Northampton County:
CANVASBACK – 1 to at least 1/20
BARROW’S GOLDENEYE – 1 to at least 1/23 (female; near Tuscarora Inn).

Sightings from PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Northampton County:
At the Grand Central landfill:
GLAUCOUS GULL – 1 to at least 1/23 (first-winter)
ICELAND GULLS – 3 on 1/23 (1 adult, 2 first-winter).

Sightings from BUSHKILL TOWNSHIP, Northampton County:
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW – 1 to at least 1/22 (along Kromer Road).

Sightings from PALMER TOWNSHIP, Northampton County:
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK – 1 to at least 1/20 (light morph; between Tatamy exit of
Route 33 and Van Buren Road).

Sightings from the NAZARETH QUARRY, Northampton County:
ROSS’S GOOSE – 1 on 1/22.

Sightings from WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP, Northampton County:
Golden Eagle – 1 on 1/21 (fly-by adult)
Bald Eagles – 2 on 1/21 (fly-by adults).

Sightings from QUAKERTOWN SWAMP, Bucks County:
Peregrine Falcons – 2 on 1/23.

Sightings from GREEN LANE RESERVOIR, Montgomery County:
At the Walt Road area:
Cackling Goose – 1 to at least 1/22
REDHEADS – 4 on 1/21; 3 on 1/23; 2 to at least 1/24
CANVASBACK – 1 to at least 1/24
Red-breasted Merganser – 1 on 1/20.
At the Church Road area:
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS – 2 to at least 1/24 (dark morph and light morph).

Sightings from LAKE NOCKAMIXON, Bucks County:
At the Tohickon boat launch:
Cackling Goose – 1 on 1/22.

Sightings from BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, Bucks County:
WESTERN TANAGER – 1 to at least 1/23 (at 733 Rolling Hills Road).

A little farther afield, a HARRIS’S SPARROW has been seen at a private
feeder at 135 Rickert Road near Doylestown. PLEASE BIRD ONLY FROM THE ROAD.
