Subject: [MBBIRDS] Eurasian Wigeon Shorebirds Pond, Watsonville, CA
|01-13-18 about 3pm
Re-found the *EURASIAN WIGEON* first found by Randy Wardle 01-12-18, at
Shorebirds Pond along Beach Rd in Watsonville. Was in the middle of the
pond with several other duck type species.
Also saw 1 WHITE-FACED IBIS along the road walking in toward the pond. It
was mingling with other Egrets.
I did see what appeared to be a young MERLIN on top a power pole right
after the pumping station.
There was 1 AMERICAN KESTREL 1/4 mile from the end of San Andreas Rd right
at Beach Rd. I have not seen very many in this area recently.
Also present in the pond were:
1 Cinnamon Teal
a few Bufflehead
numerous American Wigeon
3-4 Ruddy Duck
