Subject: [obol] Horned Larks in the Willamette Valley
Recent posts got me thinking about Horned Larks in Oregon, especially in
winter.

I had a flock of about 100 in an adjacent farm field in January, about 15
years ago,

the only time I've seen them here (I'm in Clackamas Co.). But my new
year's resolution is

to check more frequently in 2018 for local winter birds. I checked this
field today.

No Larks.

Here are the year-round stats from eBird. ( It doesn't separate the high
counts

by season). High counts not in winter are likely migrants. Who knows the

subspecies of any of these high counts, as northern races likely winter

or pass through Oregon

Huh? Maybe there are CBC records not in eBird?
