Subject: [CT Birds] Red Tail Migration Numbers
The numbers are from the RIFF RAFF Hawkwatch Group


Does anyone have any theories on the low numbers of migrant red-tailed hawks reported in the mid-Atlantic this fall? Here are a few examples of this year / average.
Hawk Mountain (PA): 1053 / 3159
Waggoner's Gap (PA): 1304 / 2136
Allegheny Front (PA): 1111 / 2099
Ashland (DE): 366 / 847
Cape Henlopen (DE): 107 / 233
Cape May (NJ): 730 / 1859
Rockfish Gap (VA): 508 / 684
Kiptopeke (VA): 407 / 586
Lighthouse Point (CT): 243 / 358
Quaker Ridge (CT) was above average: 304 / 242.
