Birds observed at my feeders or heard for the week ending November 10, 2017 totaled 16 species locally.
Fly overs included: Teal species
Other species seen or heard were:
Black caped Chickees,
Other birds seen- Cormorants at the Lake of the Woods
Shrike species: 170th street on Missouri 41 near Van Meter State Park 11/9/2017.
Twenty Red-tailed Hawks and Five Northern Harriers on the same day while enroute to Brunswick, Mo and return.
Best birds(s): Juncos
Observation: Winter birds are arriving with each strong cold blast\ such as this weekend. Look for winter sparrows such as White-throated, White Crowned, Red Crossbills, ducks, and geese, and especially White fronted, Snows Cackling and Canada Geese both day and night as well as Gulls and Terns.
Field Trip on Sunday, November 19th to Lake Jacomo Audubon Library and boat ramp for ducks. Meet at the Audubon Library at 2:00 p.m.
Project FEEDER WATCH begins Saturday November 11, hope several will participate.
