Mallards does make sense. Wild Mallards cheerfully interbreed with various
breeds of domestic
Mallards, and domestics often mingle with the wild ones. A black Mallard
with a white bib might be "Black Swedish" or a cross with one. Some years
ago a very similar bird was hanging with the wild ones here in Nashua.
