Raptor Observations: Lots of highlights today! The biggest was a beautiful, light-phase Rough-legged Hawk that gave everyone terrific views out to our west as it circled a few times low over the 'plateau' and 'turtle' as it finally moved south at 12:01pm. Although this bird was quite distant, Diane got a couple of photos to document the identification. Another highlight was an immature Northern Goshawk with a full crop that flew over at 2:05pm. Finally, two immature Golden Eagles passed through at 11:09am and 1:23pm. Three adult Bald Eagles (9:23, 1:42, 2:17).
Non-raptor Observations: 20 Monarchs. 95 American Robins.
Predictions: Rain moving in tonight and throughout tomorrow morning. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Vic Laubach (<laubach...>) Rockfish Gap Hawk Watch information may be found at: http://www.rockfishgaphawkwatch.org
