Observation start time: 08:00:00 Observation end time: 16:00:00 Total observation time: 8 hours
Official Counter: Ken Klapper
Observers: Betsy Chadwick, Dorie & Tom Heig, Harold Janeway, Robert Vallieres
Visitors: One hundred and thirty-one, including visitors from Houston, Chattanooga, Orlando, several Granite State locales (Northland, Manchester, Henniker, Webster, and a cross-country team from Concord HS), and Saskatchewan.
Weather: Cool to mild, and sunny. Light ENE breeze. Temps from about 50F to 60F.
Raptor Observations: A nice push of TVs, especially in the last hour. Less sharpies than yesterday, and only one falcon, a Kestrel.
Non-raptor Observations: No waterfowl moving except for a group of ducks seen for about a quarter of a second. No time for a walk today. Only six monarchs.
Predictions: Light southeast breeze, picking up a smidge in the afternoon. Maybe some morning movement. Let's hope for a few clouds, the blue skies today were beautiful to some, but painful to raptor counters. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Ken Klapper (<kklapper...>) Carter Hill Observatory information may be found at: www.nhaudubon.org
