Visitors:
Hue Holley, former President of the Friends of the Fells, came up for a
short time but left about 15 minutes too soon, before the Peregrine came by


Weather:
Relatively light (2-1) northwest to west winds, becoming only brief gusts
towards end of watch

Raptor Observations:
Moderate movement of mostly accipiters with all but five birds prior to 12
noon, included one immature BE; large Peregrine seen flying head-on at
eye-level was last bird seen at 3:35 PM
One adult BE seen several times hanging around area -- probably in Spot
Pond area; possibly as many as 6 local redtails seen, one local CH, one OS
that seemed to be staying in area and one local TV

Non-raptor Observations:
count made by Brian Rusnica until 10:30 when official counter arrived
Migrating birds -- 275 Canada Geese, 3 Common Loons, 9 Ravens, and one
Nighthawk
3 Monarch Butterflies, and at least 2 Green Darners also seen migrating


Predictions:
Strong westerly winds predicted for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
beginning from southwest and changing toward the west
