Bird Observer announces that its October 2017 issue is now online at www.birdobserver.org.


Where to Go Birding highlights “Danehy Park, Cambridge, Massachusetts" by Karsten Hartel. Articles feature “Vagrancy of Selasphorus and Other Western Hummingbirds” by Sean Williams and Andrew Vitz, Nonbreeding Vocal Repertoire of Northern Saw-whet Owls” by Tim Spahr, and a Photo Essay about Least Terns by Sandy Selesky.

There is a Field Note about “Blue Grosbeak Nesting Successfully in Massachusetts” by Nathaniel Marchessault. As usual, we include regular columns by David Larson, Martha Steele, and Mark Lynch, as well as Bird Sightings for May/June 2017 and Wayne Petersen's "At A Glance."
