Observation start time: 09:30:00 Observation end time: 11:30:00 Total observation time: 2 hours
Official Counter: Ron Harrington
Observers: Sam Evans
Weather: Mostly cloudy with valley fog early. By 10:00 it began to slowly break up and by 11:00 the visibility was about 10 miles with 50% cloud cover. Temperature ranged from the low 60s to about 70 degrees F when we left. Winds were very light and variable.
Raptor Observations: The first BWH came by at 10:30 and were already flying pretty high. Hawks could be seen with the naked eye with help from the clouds.
Non-raptor Observations: Several Turkey Vultures were observed. One Raven was flying back and forth.Heard one Carolina Wren, White-breasted Nuthatch, and a Goldfinch. Saw one Chimney Swift. Otherwise it was very quiet except for the occasional outburst from crows down in the valley.
Predictions: Should be a good day for observing hawks. Warmer with clearing conditions. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Ronald Eugene Harrington (<roneharrin...>)
