Visitors: Observers Rod Chase, Ted Mara. Visitors: Glenn Lawrence and a steady trickle of pleasant hikers and drivers who said hi.
Weather: NW winds prevailed all day @ 3-8mph/5-13kpm with occasional 12-15mph/19-24kpm gusts. 30% overcast at start steadily went to 95% by noon. Early cumulus clouds to NW quickly came at us while a low, gray whale of cloud mass advanced slowly over. This blotted all sun and thermal lift weakened. Visibility 10 mi. low thru a very hazy air mass.
Raptor Observations: The 2 adult BE's (10:28am) appeared north and rode thermal from Garner to enormous height before zooming SW in a long and fast glide. A SS appeared and dove on each eagle before accelerating ahead. Nice show against the lower clouds on west side. Local Merlin passed on north then sped into the NW oaks and birches. Popped up hunting on updraft and then rode it back to north and exited to east.
Non-raptor Observations: Other locals: TV 8; RT 3; Ravens 4; Chimney Swifts 3;
Predictions: Sunny but low 60's and perhaps stronger NW wind. (Bring some warmer clothes if coming.)
