Subject: [SJBIRDS] MacGillivray's Warbler at Bear Creek

Things were jumping early this morning along the Bear Creek Bike Trail. The willows were alive with Yellow Warblers west of Faklis Park, but the prize was a singing MacGillivray's Warbler. East of the park was a calling Western Wood Pewee and several Western Tanagers, including two colorful males next to each other in a tree. Other highlights included a mother Wood Duck with six ducklings, a male Northern Harrier being harassed by blackbirds as it crossed their territories, and Black-headed Grosbeaks all along the trail.

Good birding,

Susan M. Schneider
