Total observation time: 7.5 hours

Official Counter: Mike Zebehazy

Observers: Dennis Russell, Wendy Zebehazy

Visitors:
Wendy Zebehazy; Dennis Russell, and his brother, Marty.

Weather:
Mostly overcast with very strong and gusty SSW to SW winds all day. Periods
of sun. Warm.

Raptor Observations:
Raptor movement was limited today. There were no great numbers. Most birds
were flying NNE and closer to the lake all morning and much of the
afternoon. Mid-afternoon, what there was of the flight moved more inland
and followed a more ENE path. Many were very high and difficult to spot. A
single, but distant, first of the season Broad-wing was the highlight.

Non-raptor Observations:
Northern (yellow-shafted) Flickers migrated through all day, especially in
the morning when I counted 25 in about two hours. Also, tree swallows were
in good numbers.A few cormorants came in off the lake and went east.

Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with periods of rain. SW winds 12 to 16 mph. Maybe the
broad-wings will show in greater numbers.
