Weather: A clearing front had arrived the day before. It was sunny, clear and beautiful, but the winds were not as strong as forecast, running 5-10 mph. NNW/NW. Shifted to sea breeze around 12 noon.
Raptor Observations: Several birds were low and close, including the Merlin, and a large adult female harrier. Most, including most vultures, were out of the western edgeof the marsh or on the ridge line. Saw two adult Bald Eagles soaring to the SW, 2 local Redtails, and a Peregrine Falcon flushing ducks and moving south in the hunt. One migrant was adult male Northern Harrier kissing the marsh grass as he flew up the maresh. Merlin was adult male.
Non-raptor Observations: Has 2 Duuble-crested Cormorants moving, along with 12 Common Mergansers and 2 BLue Jays.
