I've had a Great Egret for the past few days, but I'm way south. Today there was a second egret but its bill isn't bright yellow like the first black bird. Top of bill looks grayish.

eBird flagged the egret as rare, and I shared on the Maryland Notable Bird Sightings Facebook group, too. I was very surprised to find a great egret at Lake Kittamaqundi this afternoon. A photo of the bird is in the group photostream. Is this unusually early for this bird? I see the March 12 sighting in Elkton earlier on this board.

Also, yesterday I had Howard County's FOY osprey at Lake K.
