Subject: [MASSBIRD] woodcock peenting in the snow
In the Blue Hills area, Milton, I had a woodcock peenting at first light
this morning as light snow started. This fellow seems to prefer dawn over
dusk for his courtship flights - this is third day he's announced himself
very very early.

Also in the morning chorus, directed by God, were mourning doves, song
sparrow, cardinal, robin, and white throated sparrow.

Robert Mussey, Milton
