Subject: [MDBirding] Poplar Island 3/6/2017
Highlights from yesterday's census at Poplar Island included 2 Black-crowned Night-Herons and 9 Short-eared Owls overwintering along the barges; 4 Bonaparte's Gulls in an offshore gull feeding flock; first-of-season Tree Swallows perched on two nestboxes; and 40 Great Blue Herons roosting on one of the habitat islands - the most I've seen in one place here.
