More on this topic, since several Wisbirdn subscribers have pointed out the
zone (plant hardiness) map makes it unlikely in WI.
But people planted it in Iowa, and it has killed birds there:

Last April, Decatur resident Charles Reid found a flock of dead cedar waxwings outside of Decatur High Schoolís front entrance.
